Moulds may head to Texans

Bills could opt out of the Losman experiment
Over the last few days, various league reports have come out that the Buffalo Bills are shopping their 2004 first-round draft pick, quarterback J.P. Losman. The news has come as somewhat of a surprise for many, since Losman clearly has great athleticism and a rocket for a throwing arm. However, his accuracy, attitude and field smarts are each major concerns at this point, which has led many of the NFL's scouts, front-office people, coaches and players to doubt Losman's ability.
Texans close to finalizing deal for Moulds
After days of negotiations, the Houston Texans are close to finalizing a trade that will land them Buffalo Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds. The Texans have agreed to pay Moulds $14 million over four years, in a deal that includes a $5 million signing bonus. The only part of the deal that has yet to be finalized is what the Texans will give the Bills as compensation. The Texans are offering a fifth-round draft pick. The Bills are asking for a fourth-round pick.

Woodbury's NFL Europe Diary
What's happening captain? I'm here in Cologne already in Week 3 of the NFL Europe season. It sure has gone by fast. This week, we had a tough loss - we gave a game away to Amsterdam. I'm not the one to hold back from anything, but I feel we are the best team in this league. We left a lot of points on the field, but you had best believe that we won't let that happen again.
TE Everett Primed for NFL Debut
Last year at this time Kevin Everett was anxiously waiting to begin his NFL career. The former Miami star had just impressed NFL scouts in workouts at the school's Pro Day and was awaiting the NFL Draft to determine his new team colors.
2006 NFL Draft: Mock Draft Picks
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 29 & 30th. That doesn't mean it's too early to take a look at some projections for the Bills. Buffalobills.com has searched the internet and flipped through numerous draft publications to compile a list of mock draft picks for the Buffalo Bills.
Trade talks regarding Moulds heating up
Talks between the Bills and two teams are heating up to a point that an Eric Moulds trade could happen as early as Thursday.
The Texans and Eagles appear to have the lead and both teams are expecting quick decisions.
Bills general manager Marv Levy has talked with Moulds and even though he wants him to take a pay cut and stay, he's willing to part ways with the wide receiver in a trade.
How Would the Bills Fare if the Season Began Next Week?
Free agency has already run its larger course meaning that the biggest impact free agents are off the market for the most part thereby leaving primarily the draft for teams to improve themselves. While the NFL draft is a primary source of building for seasons subsequent to that particular draft, with exceptions, it is rare indeed for any team to get the kind of talent that makes the immediate impact that really translates to wins in the season that the draft is conducted.
Buffalo's offensive line still looks weak
This year's free agency period has seen its fair share of disappointment in terms of upgrading a suspect Buffalo Bills offensive line. Although the Bills have tried to repair the problem areas of their line, they have failed at solidifying it completely.

The Bills Precarious QB Situation: Part II
In the first installment of this look at the Bills’ QBs we saw where the Bills stood regarding their QB situation. In this installment we’ll take a closer look at who should enter the season as the team’s starting QB and why, both from the perspective of the team, Levy/Jauron, as well as the fans.
Josh Reed: Could Start Alongside Lee Evans
With the status of veteran star Eric Moulds up in the air, it's quite possible the recently re-signed Reed will enter training camp penciled in as a starter, alongside Lee Evans, The Sports Xchange reports.
Meetings notebook: Bills looking to deal Losman
Teams in search of a quarterback on the trade market could be in line for yet another young talent in the coming weeks: J.P. Losman. Two league sources indicated Tuesday that Losman hasn't gained the confidence of the Buffalo Bills' new regime. Both sources expect the team to put the former first-round pick on the trade block before the start of the 2006 season – if he isn't already there.
Bills report: Inside slant
Since taking over their new jobs in January, Bills general manager Marv Levy and coach Dick Jauron have been polite but hardly effusive in their comments about quarterback J.P. Losman.
Bills report: Strategy and personnel
The Bills went 0-2 trying to steal other teams' young prospects, losing out on G Reggie Wells of Arizona and DE Israel Idonije of Chicago.
Bills report: Notes, quotes
WR Eric Moulds, whose relationship with the club quickly deteriorated after he refused to take a pay cut in order to return to the team, has been granted permission to seek a trade.
Bills Announce Preseason Schedule
New head coach Dick Jauron will make his debut on the Bills sideline in a preseason game at Carolina the week of August 10-14, 2006. Buffalo will then host a pair of Ohio teams, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns, before closing out its preseason schedule on the road at Detroit.
QBs can use sessions as springboard
The Buffalo Bills will open their most fascinating spring practices ever next week. Spring practice? Fascinating? Not for most teams. But the Bills have the most unsettled quarterback situation in the NFL. Starting candidates Kelly Holcomb, J.P. Losman and Craig Nall begin the process of sorting it out when the Bills convene for training sessions April 7-9. Bills coach Dick Jauron has no doubt about the biggest challenge he faces in his new job.
Eagles unlikely to make a big catch at receiver
Buffalo's Eric Moulds and Green Bay's Javon Walker top the wish lists of most e-mailers, bloggers, and talk-show callers who believe they know where to find the hidden key to the Eagles' elusive Vince Lombardi Trophy. Sorry to shatter the dream, but the most likely scenario remains that last year's second-round draft pick, Reggie Brown, will be this year's No. 1 receiver come September. A league source said yesterday that the Eagles have some level of interest in Moulds, but that the wide receiver's representatives initiated the conversations with the team, rather than the other way around.

Buffalo Bills Sign WR Sam Aiken
The Bills today announced that the team has signed restricted free agent WR Sam Aiken. In accordance with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Originally a fourth-round draft pick by the Bills in 2003, Aiken has played in 37 games, starting two, over the past three seasons.
Q&A with Bills TE Robert Royal
PFW: Obviously, there was a glut of tight ends in Washington with a lot of players competing for playing time. Will Buffalo give you an opportunity to see the field more?
Royal: The thing about it was, just the offensive scheme, the way things were set up, didn’t quite give me a chance to use my full potential. Obviously, they’ve got great coaches down there; I think it’s going to be a heckuva offense. Just the overall package of what I’ve seen here, I think will be great.
NFL: Truth and Rumors
Buffalo Bills general manager Marv Levy wouldn't mind shipping disgruntled wideout Eric Moulds within the division to the Patriots - for the right price. The Bills are believed to be seeking a fourth-round pick or higher, but Levy said that had yet to be determined.
Ngata may not fit Bills' defensive needs
It's starting to look like the Buffalo Bills will not be able to address their needs on either the offensive or defensive line with the eighth overall pick in the NFL draft. Conventional wisdom among draft experts since the end of the season has been the Bills would select the No. 1-rated defensive tackle, Oregon's Haloti Ngata, with their top choice.
Half-dozen teams show interest in Moulds
The list of teams interested in acquiring Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl veteran wide receiver Eric Moulds is now up to a half dozen.
The NFC champion Seattle Seahawks entered the picture Monday after a busy weekend of speculation on where Moulds will wind up, personal adviser Greg Johnson said.
Moulds available for the right price
Bills general manager Marv Levy wouldn’t mind shipping disgruntled wideout Eric Moulds within the division to the Patriots - for the right price. “It depends on what the compensation would be,” Levy said at the NFL owners’ meetings yesterday. “We would talk to them, of course. We’d talk about it. We wouldn’t rule them out.”
Eyes of Texans are upon Bills' unhappy Moulds
The Houston Texans have emerged as the team most interested in trading for disgruntled Bills receiver Eric Moulds, who has vowed he won't return to Buffalo.

Getting Your Wish and Paying the Price
Buffalo Bills fans got their wish during the offseason when owner Ralph Wilson fired President/General Manager Tom Donahoe. Wilson brought back Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy to assume the mantle of General Manager/Football Operations. The owner took back the title of President for himself. Disturbing, however, was the decision to retain assistant general manager Tom Modrak and his scouting operation, including pro personnel director John Guy.
Texans trying to acquire Bills' Moulds?
The Houston Texans have emerged as the team most interested in trading for disgruntled Bills receiver Eric Moulds, who has vowed he won’t return to Buffalo.
“I’ve had a great conversation with Charley Casserly, and it’s intriguing,” Moulds’ personal adviser Greg Johnson said Monday, referring to the Texans’ general manager. “I’m not saying he’s definitely going to Houston, but I’m saying that Houston is definitely a player.”
Bills Re-Sign DE Ryan Denney
Defensive end Ryan Denney will remain with the Buffalo Bills. After exploring his options for nearly two weeks of free agency, Denney officially re-signed with the team that selected him in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft.
Bills Will Not Play On Thanksgiving
Although Buffalo will visit Detroit this year, the NFL has chosen the Dolphins as the AFC representative that will play the Lions on Thanksgiving at 12:30. The Cowboys will host the Buccaneers at 4:15, and the Broncos and Chiefs will be features on the NFL Network's play-by-play debut at 8.
NFL Europe Report: Week Two
Buffalobills.com columnists and Bills Backers of Germany Frank Stritzel and David Lux hit the road this weekend again to watch Bills player Tory Woodbury allocated to the NFL Europe for the Cologne Centurions in their home opener against the Amsterdam Admirals, which the Admirals won, 20-15. Frank did a short Q&A with Tory Woodbury, who didn't play QB, but saw action as a special teams player.
Evans close to getting his No. 1 wish
Lee Evans says he's ready to be the Buffalo Bills' No. 1 wide receiver.
He better be. With the impending departure of Eric Moulds, Evans is about to inherit the job. Like all of us, Evans is monitoring the Moulds situation. Evans would love to have Moulds back. He sees Moulds as more than a teammate. The 10-year veteran has been a mentor and one of the biggest influences on Evans' young NFL career. But even Evans seems resigned to the likelihood of Moulds leaving. That's why Evans is getting ready to go into his third season as the primary receiver in the Bills' passing game.
Moulds has his eye on Eagles
Eric Moulds' representative says the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in his client, and the feeling is mutual.
"Eric has a wish list of teams, and a lot of those teams on his list are interested," said Greg Johnson, Moulds' New Orleans-based advisor. "I'm optimistic we can work something out that will be acceptable to the Bills."
Bills backup tackle Edwards agrees to terms with KC
More than two weeks after the start of the free-agency signing period, the Chiefs made a dip into the talent pool Sunday.
Just don’t look for the splash. Their contract agreement with Buffalo defensive tackle Ron Edwards might make barely a ripple.
Edwards, 26, played five seasons with Buffalo, only one as a full-time starter, and missed all but four games last season because of a shoulder injury.
Agent: Moulds wants to play for Eagles
Eric Moulds has a wish list of five teams he'd like to play for, and guess who's at the tippy-top of it?
That's right. The Eagles.
"Every time I mention Philadelphia, Eric's ears perk up," said Greg Johnson, who represents the 32-year-old Bills wide receiver along with his partner, Harry Henderson. "He wants to go to Philadelphia. He really feels he could help them. He loves the idea of being an Eagle and playing with Donovan [McNabb]."
Texans try to enable trade for receiver Moulds
The Texans are interested in trading for veteran Buffalo Bills receiver Eric Moulds to start opposite Andre Johnson.
Moulds, 32, has been given permission by the Bills to seek a trade because they don't want to pay him the $7.1 million he's due this year.

The Bills Precarious QB Situation: Part I
No one paying attention to the wilings at One Bills Drive could possibly be unaware of the precarious QB situation that is essentially a creation of the Bills themselves. In part it defines the Bills and their impatience with QBs coupled with their self-fulfilling prophecies of "not being able to find a starter." One must ask the obvious, how hard are they looking? It would appear that their expectations are a bit unrealistic, especially considering the tools (AHEM….offensive line) that recent QBs have had to work with.
Like us, Kelly is tired of the musical quarterbacks game
Hey Bills fans, Jim Kelly feels your pain.
Like you, he believes it's been way too long since the team he quarterbacked to greatness and still roots for has been any good.
Way too long since the Bills had stability at the position Kelly mastered in Hall of Fame fashion for more than a decade.

AFC East Report.com first-round mock draft No. 2
With all of the changes occurring around the NFL since the last mock draft from earlier this month, I figured that now is the appropriate time to do a second first-round mock. Plenty of key changes have occurred in the league since free agency began, so the draft outlook looks much different than it did two mere weeks ago.

Ochs diary: Experience leads to results
So far it has been a great experience here in Frankfurt. I've been out and have seen a lot of the city, and it's nice with the train being so close to the hotel. I've enjoyed it so far. The downtown area is great; there are lots of shopping areas, which my wife likes, so it's been a fun time.
McGahee hits the ground running
Willis McGahee is starting the NFL offseason on the right foot with the Buffalo Bills' new coaching staff. The Bills' star running back showed up Monday with many teammates for the start of the team's voluntary, 12-week offseason conditioning program.

RB McGahee ready to make good impression with new Bills coaches
Willis McGahee walked into the Buffalo Bills' interview room, carrying a miniature action figure of himself that's available in the team's gift shop.
''I'm here to promote myself a little bit,'' the star running back said Thursday with a laugh after he was asked what he was carrying.

Woodbury's NFL Europe Diary
What's happening everybody? It's Week Two of our season here in Cologne, and we're coming off a big victory in Hamburg. We started out our season the right way, and while we didn't play a complete game, a win is a win. We'll have to make fewer mistakes as we go on from here if we want to get to the World Bowl.
Bills report: Notes, quotes
Bills veteran DB Troy Vincent was re-elected president of the NFLPA in meetings held in Hawaii. It will be his second two-year term. Vincent, a successful businessman off the field and one of the most respected voices in the game, is often mentioned as the heir apparent to union executive director Gene Upshaw.
Bills report: Strategy and personnel
The Bills hadn't signed an offensive linemen nearly a week into the free agency period, and lost out in their pursuit of 6-4, 320-pound Cardinals G Reggie Wells and former New York Jets LT Jason Fabini. Arizona matched Buffalo's five-year offer sheet to Wells, while Fabini signed with Dallas.
Bills report: Inside slant
Youth is being served in Buffalo's early foray into free agency. After cutting defensive tackle Sam Adams, 32, strong safety Lawyer Milloy, 32, and tight end Mark Campbell, 30, new general manager Marv Levy and coach Dick Jauron filled their spots with Larry Tripplett, 27, Matt Bowen, 26, and Robert Royal, 24.
Craig Nall: Competing for Starting Job
Nall is still well behind Kelly Holcomb and J.P. Losman in terms of being ready to start. Nall, who turns 27 on April 21, hasn't played much in his NFL career. He started only one season in his college career, then sat on the bench for the past four years behind Brett Favre in Green Bay. He'll have a chance, but it's a long shot for 2006 even with the Bills' happy statements. He'll need a very strong summer to even have a remote chance at starting.

Offseason Conditioning Program Underway
Lee Evans, London Fletcher, J.P. Losman, Willis McGahee, Terrence McGee, and Josh Reed are among the large group of Bills players taking part in the team's offseason conditioning program, which officially kicked off Monday at One Bills Drive.
It's open season at QB
The Buffalo Bills' quarterback position is wide, wide open. It's so wide open that a guy with no NFL starts in four years has a shot to win it. The Bills introduced new free-agent quarterback Craig Nall on Tuesday and made it clear he will get a chance to compete for the starting position.
Van Pelt completes soft landing
Late in his career, Alex Van Pelt and his wife, Brooke, had the talk. When his NFL playing days were through, maybe he'd consider a job in the real world, some 9-to-5 situation that gave him more time with his family. But Van Pelt couldn't say what sort of job he had in mind.
Big Bills for Canuck
Football is his game, not poker, but Manitoba's Israel Idonije is holding a nice hand these days.
And the hulking defensive end, who played college ball for the University of Manitoba Bisons, is about to hit the jackpot.
The 25-year-old free agent recently signed an offer sheet with the Buffalo Bills reportedly worth $7.5 million US over four years.
Cards match Bills' offer to keep Wells
Sunday afternoon, Reggie Wells was unsure of where he was going to be playing, but certain he was about to become more wealthy than he expected coming out of tiny Clarion (Pa.) University in 2003. “It’s been a long journey,” the offensive lineman said with a chuckle.

March 21, 2006
Bills WR Moulds granted permission to seek trade
Eric Moulds has the Buffalo Bills' permission to seek a trade, the latest step for the veteran receiver who asked for his release after repeatedly rejecting the team's demands to take a pay cut.
''We are shopping Eric,'' Moulds' personal adviser, Greg Johnson, told The Associated Press on Tuesday. ''Obviously, we would much rather have Eric released. But if we can work out a trade, we will. But if not, we're back to Square 1 and Eric won't play for the Bills. He doesn't want to play for them, and he will not play for them.''

Bills up ante for Izzy

Financial terms of the sponsorships were not disclosed. Digicon Imaging enters its first year as the Bills' official printing partner and will have an advertising presence on buffalobills.com.
Morris, Fowler visit Bills
Morris is a 5-foot-10, 202-pound back who was a second-round draft choice in 2002 out of the University of Oregon. He rushed for 288 yards on 71 carries, a 4.1-yard average, for Seattle in 2005. He has seen limited spot duty as a backup to Shaun Alexander, the NFL's most valuable player, the past four years.
The Buffalo Risktakers
One has to wonder what the overall strategic plan of the Bills is these days. A week and a half into free agency following a tumultuous pre-free agency period revolving around a dubious CBA settlement has left the Bills no more competitive than they were last season. Furthermore, there is not one free agent that has been signed that does not have a significant amount of risk associated with them.
Bills agree to deal with Green Bay backup QB Nall
It's not Daunte Culpepper. And it's not Drew Brees.
But as general manager Marv Levy promised, the Buffalo Bills have added another quarterback to the mix, officially agreeing to terms late Monday with unrestricted free agent Craig Nall, the team announced.
March 20, 2006

Nall agrees to three-year contract with Bills
Maybe it's a sign Craig Nall knows something about Brett Favre that the rest of the world doesn't.
On Sunday night, Nall reached terms with the Buffalo Bills on a free-agent contract, ending his four-year run with the Green Bay Packers. If Nall, who is close friends with Favre and recently went on a hunting trip with him, thought Favre was going to retire he might not have been so eager to find a job somewhere else.

Matching funds
The Cardinals likely will match Buffalo's tender offer to guard Reggie Wells, a restricted free agent, Graves said.
The Bills signed Wells to the offer sheet Friday, and the Cardinals have a week to match.
Bills Continue to Whiff in Offseason
The front end of free agency likely ushered the fans to the exits in the game of season ticket sales. As stated in past weeks and in spite of needing a grand slam this offseason, their first batter whiffed, and the second is at the plate down in the count 0-2. Precarious is one word that springs to mind regarding the Bills’ offseason to date. Regardless, the moves that the Bills have made are fraught with risk. Marv Levy is clearly not shining in his first experiences as an NFL GM.
Bills want Idonije
The Buffalo Bills are trying to swipe another promising young prospect from another roster. The Bills signed restricted free agent Israel Idonije of the Chicago Bears to an offer sheet Saturday.

Oh but the MVP right off the top is Paul Maguire."

Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell, Defensive Backs Coach George Catavolos, Defensive/Special Teams Assistant DeMontie Cross, Defensive Line coach Bills Kollar, and Linebackers Coach Matt Sheldon join Assistant to the Head Coach/Defensive Assistant Chuck Lester to round out the defensive staff.
Rookie coordinator Fewell hoping to revive Bills defense
There's no mystery when it comes to what's expected of new Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell: Turn around a Buffalo defense that opposing teams ran roughshod over in 2005. Fewell -- entering his first-ever season as a coordinator -- takes over a Bills defense that allowed an eye-popping 138 yards per game on the ground and dropped to 29th in the league just one year after finishing No. 2. "We're going to be fast, and we're going to be aggressive this year," said Fewell, who spoke Thursday to reporters at team headquarters here. "We're going to play hard and hustle to the football."

Bills take no risk, make no gain at quarterback position
Considering that Buffalo last made the postseason in 1999, it is difficult to swallow that the Bills weren't in the running for Daunte Culpepper (traded to Miami by Minnesota for the 51st overall pick in this year's college draft), Drew Brees (signed by New Orleans) or even Jon Kitna (signed by Detroit).
Maybe Bills will draft another QB
When the snow settled on the 2005 season, and it became apparent that Terrence McGee’s Week 16 heroics not only upset the Cincinnati Bengals but cost Buffalo the third pick in April’s draft, the common refrain around town was:
“We coulda got Leinart!”
Buffalo flunking the free agency test
The free agency period got started with a bang for the Buffalo Bills this past weekend as they managed to sign three veterans: defensive tackle Larry Tripplett, tight end Robert Royal, and wide receiver Andre' Davis. Of those three, Tripplett, the $18 million dollar man, has proven the most as he helped the Indianapolis Colts' defense reach new heights last season. Royal signed for $10 million and is going to be used as an extra blocker, and Davis, a former New England Patriot, will compete for the slot receiver position.

Wells being wooed by Bills and Packers
Reggie Wells was considered the Cardinals’ most consistent offensive lineman last season, but the team might have to work a little harder than expected to keep the restricted free agent around. Wells, who received a one-year tender offer of $712,000, visited Buffalo Tuesday after spending Monday with Green Bay. If the Bills or Packers sign him to an offer sheet and the Cardinals decline to match it, Arizona would get a sixth-round draft pick — the round in which Wells was chosen in the 2003 draft
Bills make a charge after Pickett

NFL does Bills no favors with new labor agreement
The quest for a new NFL collective bargaining agreement was never about the owners versus the players. The league knew the players' association, once the weakest in sports, finally had its act together. There was no doubt the owners would to have to surrender a larger cut of the colossal revenue pie.
Naysayer Wilson stands on principle
Ralph Wilson's "no," one of just two against the peace-at-any-cost pact between the NFL's large-market owners, the small-market owners and the Players Association, was a vote on principle. He didn't think the small-market teams were protected enough in the new six-year contract.
Bills off to fast start in free-agent derby
The Buffalo Bills dived into the free-agent market Saturday by signing defensive tackle Larry Tripplett from Indianapolis and tight end Robert Royal from Washington.
Tripplett, 27, helps fill the gaping void the Bills have at defensive tackle and was targeted to fit the Bills' new defensive scheme. Royal, who will be 27 in May, could be considered an "under-the-radar" find. The Bills consider him a top blocker, and he figures to enter spring practice as the starter at tight end.

Bills go shopping with long list of needs
The Buffalo Bills entered free agency today with a fistful of dollars to spend and a desire to be more active in the free-agent market than in the past two offseasons.
The Bills on Friday extended the contract of linebacker Josh Stamer, learned of a bump in pay for cornerback Nate Clements and prepared for some free-agent visitors.
Bills Methods Continue to Be a Conundrum
With little to report however between the official end of the season following the Pro Bowl, and now, the start of free agency, I assume that I share a range of emotions with many fans. A sense of relief surfaced with the firing of the incompetent and self-serving ex-GM and team president Tom Donahoe and the wise departure of handpicked yet "not quite ready for prime time" head coach Mike Mularkey. This is not to say that years of irreparable and irreversible damage had not been done on many fronts. That sense of relief was quickly overcome with a serious "raising of an eyebrow" however with Ralph Wilson’s seeming "’mature’ people can do things as well as people half their age" policy.

Bills' chances could be hurt by new CBA
Wednesday, 30 of the NFL's 32 owners voted for the league's new collective bargaining agreement proposal. The dissenting votes came from Cincinnati Bengals' owner Mike Brown, and Buffalo Bills' owner Ralph Wilson. Since the voting ended, many of my fellow media members have verbally thrashed and ruthlessly mocked the 87-year-old Wilson.
After review, Wilson stands by 'no' vote
"This is a bad deal for the NFL for the next six years," Wilson said Thursday from his home in Michigan. "It's a bad deal. It's too much money; 59.5 percent [of revenue for the players] is far too much. It's a bad deal. And it's particularly a bad deal for medium- and small-market clubs."
Wilson defends 'no' vote on labor
Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson voted against the NFL's new labor agreement with players on Wednesday night in Dallas because he said owners were given a mere 45 minutes to understand the latest complex proposal.
Given a day to digest the new pact that provides labor peace with the union through 2011 but will be much more costly to fund for everyone, how would Wilson vote?
"It would be a larger no," he said Thursday night.

Bills one of two dissenters on NFL pact
After days and days of negotiations National Football League owners and players once again made labor peace. The vote to approve the extension was 30-2, with the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, two of the NFL's small market franchises, opposed. Revenue sharing among the 32 teams was a topic of significant debate
Bills could accommodate Moulds with new cap size
The NFL's new labor deal has made it a lot easier for the Buffalo Bills to keep wide receiver Eric Moulds. The question is can they live with the $7.1 million salary he's due to make next season?
NFL approves union's proposal
After spending nearly 12 hours cobbling together a revenue-sharing plan acceptable to at least 24 disparate and at times desperate owners, the National Football League last night approved its union's final offer to extend the collective bargaining agreement for six more years by a 30-2 vote at 7:35 p.m. Central time, 25 minutes before a union-imposed deadline.

Right now in 2006 Ferguson is building himself back up following his successful battle with stage four Burkitt's lymphoma.
Buffalo Bills free agency preview (Offense)
With yesterday's Buffalo Bills defensive free agency gameplan in the books, it's time to talk about which offensive free agents the Bills ought to be pursuing that are on the open market. There are a lot of established players out there that the Bills could certainly find starting spots for.

AFC East Report.com Mock Draft
8.) Buffalo Bills – Vernon Davis, tight end, Maryland. I’m enamored with Davis. He ran a 4.38 at the combine, had a 42” vertical leap, and bench presses 465 lbs. Normally I don’t take a ton of stock in the combine, but numbers like that can’t be ignored. The Bills currently have former third round pick Kevin Everett at this position, but they simply can’t pass on Davis. No linebacker in the game can cover a tight end of this speed. Also, new GM Marv Levy spoke of character players when he was first given the Bills’ job; you won’t find many players with more character than Davis. Great tight ends are a young quarterback’s best friend, and J.P. Losman will become a different player with Davis.

NFL's delay not likely to affect Moulds

Moulds rejects Bills' second request to take pay cut
Veteran receiver Eric Moulds' future with the Buffalo Bills became more uncertain Thursday after he rejected the team's second request this week to take a pay cut.
"This thing is going nowhere," Moulds' personal adviser, Greg Johnson, told The Associated Press after he and the player's agent, Harry Henderson, held talks with the Bills. "The dollars they're presenting at this particular time are much too low. We're way too far apart to have an intelligent conversation anymore."
Deadline for free agency extended
A few hours after NFL owners voted to continue their standoff with the players union, the league extended its deadline for free agency by three days, putting off what threatened to become a mass purge of high-priced players from rosters.
Bills Tender Contracts To Free Agents
The Bills have tendered offers to seven players who were either restricted or exclusive rights free agents. Tendered were Sam Aiken, Mario Haggan, Josh Stamer, Jabari Greer, Jason Peters, Jonathan Smith, and Shad Williams. Since Greer, Peters, Smith and Williams are exclusive rights free agents their rights belong to the Bills and they can't solicit offers. Lawrence Smith was the only player that wasn't tendered.

Bills cut 3, talking with Moulds
The Buffalo Bills released three more veteran starters on Wednesday, but the biggest news was that wide receiver Eric Moulds wasn't among them.
Moulds, who turned down the team's request to take a cut in pay earlier this week, could still be let go by 4 p.m. today as NFL teams work on their salary caps while positioning themselves for the start of free agency on Friday.
Bills cap man Overdorf has hands full
When Jim Overdorf joined the Buffalo Bills as a training camp intern 21 years ago, he never envisioned he'd be working 80-hour weeks managing something called a salary cap for the team.
"Actually, I think I was working 80 hours. People just didn't notice it as much," Overdorf said with a chuckle.
Bills Cut Adams, Milloy and Campbell
Bills General Manager Marv Levy revealed Wednesday the Bills have released veteran defensive tackle Sam Adams, strong safety Lawyer Milloy and tight end Mark Campbell.
According to salary cap figures published on the Bills Zone.com web page, Adams was scheduled to make $3.5 million in the final year of his contract in 2006, and the Bills would save the entire $3.5 million by releasing him now.
Bills report: Strategy and personnel

Buffalo Bills Release DT Sam Adams

The Bills, who entered Wednesday $2 million under the $92 million salary cap, made their second major cut of the offseason by releasing former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Sam Adams. Adams, 32, has been in the NFL for 12 seasons and has been with the Bills since 2003. His release saves the Bills $3.5 million of cap room. He was scheduled to make $3.5 million this season in what was his last season with the Bills.
Getting a line on the draft
Buffalo is a long way from his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, but according to Haloti Ngata, the two cities have their share of similarities.
"Buffalo's like Salt Lake," Ngata said. "There's cold and snow. I think I would fit in well there." He might get that chance. Just about every magazine or Web site that has a mock draft predicts the Buffalo Bills will take Ngata, the All-America defensive tackle from the University of Oregon, with the eighth overall selection.
No NFL deal means chaos for cap man
