With their first pick the Bills chose to address their defensive needs with the best cornerback still on the board. Buffalo snatched up Troy's Leodis McKelvin who was the first defensive back selection of the draft. "We think that Leodis will come in here and really help this organization and add to our depth in the defensive backfield," said Bills COO Russ Brandon. "He's an outstanding player with a lot of explosion."
