294 pounds!!!?
I was ignoring him because NFLDraftScout had him at 252.

I wouldn't mind him at #11.

I remember him against OSU. They couldn't stop him.

I'd like to see his numbers though. Adding all that weight might slow him down, after which he'll lose weight for his pro day and look faster.

the shock of the combine at 291 .. I was stunned.. If the guy runs a 4.7 or 4.8 40 then look out....

He's generally listed as a DE. Scout.com has him as the 5th best DE and the 21st best player overall, while GBN has him as the 3rd best DE and 10th best player overall.

But at 291, he's more of a 'tweener or even a DT.

If he can keep his speed/agility at that weight, he'd be a scary DE prospect.

If you add 41lbs you've got to be Superman to retain your speed.

An ironically this may raise concern amongst teams that someone's weight can baloon so quickly. Its not like adding 14lbs

He may have swallowed a couple of small children.

I see nothing on the foxsports.com page that contradicts the links I've given. Do you have a link for me?

I've just taken this from the Combine report at MSN Foxsports

"3:55 p.m. - Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey weighed in at 271 pounds at the Combine. He told reporters that he believes he can have an impact on the NFL in his first year. Based on what he's hearing, he believes he'll be a 4-3 defensive end, which is what he prefers, "so I can rush the passer," he said."

Thanks for the link Kernowboy. Seems like there's a discrepency in reports... Either way, if he runs 4.7 or 4.8, I'm onboard.

Getting up to 270 is an accomplishment considering he played in the 230-240 range

i would be really disappointed if we took this guy.

i have no interest in taking a guy that has to

A. change positions from what he was good at in college..

B. has to add or lose a ton of weight and change his whole body type to play in the nfl.

no thanks..

Harvey runs his 40 in a disappointing 4.82, and 4.87 the extra weight did hurt him
