LOL ... is anything that's been reported actually true? Trump's bid less than $900M

Bad news for the estate of the late Ralph Wilson, National Football League and Morgan Stanley, the banker in charge of selling the Buffalo Bills: Demand for the football team is weaker than previously touted. Recall that a week ago it was reported by the Toronto Sun that of the 60-plus [...]

The source told me Trump’s bid is “in the mid-800s.”

It was only two days ago that NBC broadcaster Al Michaels said Trump told him he offered $1 billion for the Bills. Could my source be wrong, or lying? Could there be a difference in how the price for the team is being calculated? Anything is possible, I suppose. But I can tell you that if my source is not being honest it would be a first.

I guess this is good news though if true. Sounds like JBJ is on the outs, again, if what we've read is true. And as long as the trust doesn't try to solicit more bids.

It's probably a good guess that Trump offered the $870M that Forbes valued the team at.

I'd rather just not hear anything than all of these false reports that lead to baseless speculation.

Re: LOL ... is anything that's been reported actually true? Trump's bid less than $

Do you think Michaels would hang Trump out to dry like that, or Trump lied to Michaels? Does someone reporting something allegedly straight from the source hold more or less credibility than somebody with an un-named source?

We heard all kinds of speculation...Pegs bid $1.3bil, allegedly...a source says 'No, he didn't'. It's reported the Toronto bid was only $100mil below Pegs...the trust says 'Not high enough, you get a do-over' and a source reports JBJ's really wasn't that high. A national media figure, on national TV, indicates one of the bidders told him he bid $1bil...a 'source' says it wasn't that high.

Although, I suppose, it legally isn't the fan's business what the actual dollar amounts being thrown around are during the process, it sure would be nice to have some credible accuracy of what's going on. Where did these figures come from initially, did somebody just pull them out of a hat so that they had something 'concrete' to report?

      Agree. Someone's off though.

I can't wait for this to be over. Hopefully we're reading about Pegula owning the team pending owners approval by the time the regular season starts.

Who would know more about the bid?

        Trump or an anonymous source?

I would trust Michaels who got it from the horses mouth.

And it's nice to see the horse break the Confidentially agreement as easily as trying on a new hairpiece.

Donald Trump also told people Obama was born in Kenya and he acts like Ebola can be spread by casual contact.

The man is a walking liar who only wants his name out in public. I trust Trump slightly less than I would trust a rattlesnake.

Yeah, it has to be on TeeVee for it to be true.

The only thing Trump has said that I believe is that he has little to no chance of getting the team. Maybe when he was talking to Al he figured he'd just round to the nearest billion just to remind people that he's a billionaire.

All of this sounds like good news to me. Between Trump and Bon Jovi submitting low bids, and other potential bidders being put off by restrictive legal language, it all adds up to Pegula being the new owner and not having to overpay by too much. Pegula winning the team and being able to keep more of his money all works for me.

Buying the Bills and keeping them in WNY is a losing proposition in the short term. The investment is enormous and the return is paltry. Most businessmen would not look at this as a great use of their money.

Need an ego driven buyer ala Trump or a cash flush hometown hero ala Pegula. I would be shocked if Pegula doesn't end up owning the Bills.
