    NFL.com Power Picks

Guess who doesn't have a single person picking them to win...

Tom Brady and the Patriots will look to avoid starting the season 0-2 when they face the Vikings on Sunday. Find out who the Around The NFL team thinks will triumph in all of Week 2's games.

"Kevin Patra's power pick: Dolphins at Bills. I don't believe EJ Manuel can do it in back-to-back weeks -- this time against an actual NFL defense. "
    Bye Bye Brady...

I saw this. I am more than happy to be an underdog. Let's pin this to billboard and beat the fins by 20.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I prefer the Bills being underdogs in this game. Fuel for the fire! Marrone isn't the tyoe of coach tompost this kind of drivel in the locker room but in an age of social media and absolute constant web connectivity, the players read this kind of thing. Not all but some.

i'd rather be the underdog the whole season and wear the no respect badge than getting a lot of hype and burning and crashing like the last two good starts.

They seem to forget that we have a real NFL Defense, too. And the Tannehill is still in therapy from the ***** slapping he took here last year.

Anyone else notice that only one of them got their "power pick" right last week? Kevin Patra is about to go 0-2.

Bills at home are no joke. You guys are gonna be loud & proud this Sunday. I'm just hoping for zero turnovers from the Fins and I thunk that'll get Miami the win. Either way, it should be a great game

It's a protection mechanism.

You shroud your childish approach in a vale of pompous, intellectual garbage in an attempt to look smart and "real". You over-analyze even minute points and manipulate statistics to fit your negative view of the team. Again, to feel good about yourself and to protect from getting hurt.

Of course, the criticisms are obviously from someone who has no understanding of the team concept or what it takes to excel at athletics.

The true "realist" understands that they have no control of what happens on the field or behind the closed doors at One Bills' Drive, so they do the prudent thing for a spectator. They enjoy the games on Sunday with family and friends, cheer for their team and realize that it's just entertainment.

"I was an integral part in the drafting process of EJ Manuel," Whaley said Thursday on NFL Network's Total Access. "I was the person that handled the draft process and setting up the board."

"We are committed. I want you to believe me when I say that," Whaley said of building around the second-year quarterback, per The Buffalo News. "I always tell you guys that I'll never say never because I don't want to paint myself in a corner, but when I do say something, I do it and I mean it and I try to fulfill it."

"We believe the addition of Sammy is going to be instant impact, not only to our quarterback, but to what our offensive coordinator can come up with game-plan wise and how defenses attack us," Whaley said.

Whaley on EJ Manuel: "We think we got a gem in this guy." (2:30)

"And as Mark says, if in three years maybe he's not [our quarterback of the future], then I'll be sitting there saying 'hey guys', .... anybody got a job for me?" - Doug Whaley

Makes no sense. We beat them twice last yr, we have home advantage. They're one of few teams we might have qb edge over. We have a better defense. Don't get it.

Can't say I blame him. No reason to believe EJ can be consistent until he proves it.

That being said, this city embellishes the underdog role. So bring it. It's not going to be an easy game, but no one expected either team to win last week so we'll see what happens.

Until proven otherwise, he's right about EJ. On the other hand, Tannehill has to face his quickly forming arch nemesis in our backyard...

So first it was "Jay Cutler Was The Most Catastrophic Quarterback Of Week 1" now its "Chicago doesn't have an actual NFL defense"?? They really don't have much respect for Chicago.

I guess these guys have never heard of homefield advantage.

Miami had it last week against the Pats*

Buffalo has it this week against the Fins, and it is going to be huge.

listening to howard simon this morning. Tannehill's yards per completion vs the bills in the last 4 starts has been 5.24yards at its HIGHEST. Ej last week was 7.9.

The yards per completion range is 7.5-7.9 is in the russell wilson category and considered good. 6.4 was the lifetime of trent edwards. so 5yards per attempt at its best over 4 starts says something about tannehill when he plays the bills.

the bills also abused a team in chaos last year. they had suspended like half their line when we sacked them 6 times. Probably not a repeatable endevour with their upgrades at OL and RB. However, some teams and players just struggle against certain teams. let's hope that keeps up.
