He played 14 games and got benched, is that a record for a starting Bills QB and if not, who holds the dubious record?

Drafting a 4th round QB in the 1st round doesn't make him a 1st round talent. Your question is glass half empty. EJ should be getting praised for being the worst QB in Bills history to play this many games this quickly in his career.

If it would've been 13 we'd be 3-1.

I don't think Todd Collins lasted an entire season, but I could be wrong

Does billy Joe hobert count?

No. And sadly it's not even close.

Think back to the Dufek, Ferragamo, Mathiason days.

Sigh.

What a dufus Hobart was.

He had some ability but was too lazy to open the play book & learn it.

Lets hope for better from Orton than what Hobart delivered.

you think Orton spends hours and hours learning the playbook at age 31 when he was just about to retire? no. he doesn't.

I can't respond to this because it is not a Serious Question.

You might be right, lets hope you are WRONG.

Marrone is going to look really STUPID if you are right.

Maroon already looks stupid for not addressing this mess in the offseason when it was supposed to have been addressed.

He's been here a month and we're paying him 11 million. He'd better be studying.

Dufek-5, Ferragamo-9, Mathison-7, Bob Brodhead-1, Tommy O'Connell-11, Johnny Green-7, Richie Lucas-3, Warren Rabb-10, Dan Darragh-9, etc etc.

To be fair, a lot of these guys were injury starters or substitution starters.

Going by who appears to have been an opening day starter, Ferragamo loses at 9 starts, followed by 1962's Rabb with 10.

Van Pelt started 8 games after RJ broke his hottub.

EJ's stint will be slightly shorter than Moron's stint. He's a goner at the end of the year, and I hope they get rid of the rest of them as well.

Losman was benched after 4 games in 2005.

A new loser, Losman. Correct. Opening day starter, gone in 4 !

Gibran Hamdan and Craig Nall deserved far more opportunities in the past few years... Just my 2 cents.

For what it is worth, they are still in the running for most ineffective non starting QB's, and powerfully so.

Here is a list of the history of Buffalo Bills quarterbacks and the number of games they started each year:

Somebody got carried away and already penciled in Orton for 12 starts this year, but we'll see about that.

Great listing, the only problem is same I found digging through Pro Football Reference. Doesn't say how many and what year in a row.

Near as I can see, Gilchrist still nailed it, Losman got the hook in 4 games though he started 8 in 2005.
