I did. Just wanted to check what Reed and Mahomes would change after the Bills showed them something different. Also I'm pretty certain we are going to see them again, hopefully in Buffalo - imagine Mahomes has played post season when he started (after sitting out for a year) and has NEVER played an away playoff game ever.

Also 49ers had the #1 defense so I thought they would give Mahomes a game. Boy was I wrong. I do get it that they have Bosa, which you can argue at this stage, is better than Von Miller. They played a lot of man coverage, and when they get Mahomes to 3rd and long, they played zone but was terrible at it. Maybe Ward is not all the way back but he's just a shell of himself back when he was with KC in the past who made Diggs disappear.

On the flip side though, I do see Mahomes played more controlled, at ease kind of pace. Part of it, I think, is that he knows the 49ers has Garoppolo, not Josh Allen. He does not have to press the issue the whole game. What he said after the game that the chemistry with his receivers improving might be true. This is something I do think will be a factor down the road for us.

Overall, I really appreciate what McDermott and Frazier did against them: no big plays other than the miss-tackle on JuJu. Milano stopped so many would-be big plays at the backfield and our secondary just wouldn't let people get by them. Can't believe the 49ers didn't take a page from the Bills.

Seriously a pass rush is key and missing from yesterday’s game.

the 49er defense might be overrated ..... i'll take our approach ..... the 49er defense has just been exposed and the ranking they currently enjoy is about to take a hit.

I have a strong feeling that getting beat by the Bills pissed them off.

Who cares????

They still have the stain of losing against the Colts of all teams.

Yes, the Chiefs are dangerous, because Mahomes is the best QB right next to Josh Allen. Allen is 1A, Mahomes 1B.

And they are one of only three really good team in the NFL.....but third behind Buffalo and Philly.

Losing Tyreek Hill has had a profound difference in that team.

It will be wonderful to meet KC again, in the AFC Championship, but in BUFFALO.

Mahomes has never payed a road playoff game, and his possible first one will end badly in Bills country.

the 49ers played a lot of mediocre offenses, easy to get the no.1 defense when you don't play a top offense.

If this Bills team plays their game no one else is beating them this season. They are the only ones that can beat themselves.

I think the level of personnel on our defense finally rose above the concept of it that we use. I'll be confident with McFrazier if they don't choke into soft prevent in the playoffs, counting on Von Miller to save something when they can really count on their overall personnel. Just mho.

i agree with Sukie, problem number 1 was lack of a pass rush. Credit the Chiefs OL or criticize the Niners pass rush, but Mahomes played controlled and at ease because he wasn't getting any pressure. Pretty disappointing from a team that leads the NFL in sacks.

But the Niners also played a really undisciplined game and were fooled way too often.

On the Kelce 3rd and 1, 20 yard reception, the whole side of the field was open. BLame the pick/rub block if you'd like but there was no one out there;

On both of Hardman's rushing TD's, SF didn't realize it was a jet sweep until it was too late. On the 2nd TD, there were 2 Niner defenders from the play side in the backfield. by the time they realized Hardman had the ball, he was 5 yards past the LOS and the Chiefs had enough blockers out to take out the rest.

Helaire's 25 yard TD was nothing but a simple counter play. Dre Greenlaw got sucked into trying to rush up the center, but again, Helaire was gone before he realized it.

The KC conversion of a 3rd and 20 was a simple screen play. The Niners were woefully late reacting to it.

Andy Reid running misdirection plays is nothing new. And these plays weren't all that innovative. You see them every game.

It wasn't THAT foggy last night. But the Niners defense played in one.

We're a #1 defense & played a very hard schedule of playoff teams / champions from last season, just ranked 2-4 in the AFC east. Here's who San Fran played, they're all jokes up until KC...
