With the addition of Mike Williams to the 2004 NFL Draft, could this be the best class of recievers ever? I know that it is probably too early to tell, but I can't remember a draft with so much talent @ the WR position. Much like the class of 84' for QB's, I think this class of WR's has the makings of something special. Any thoughts?

I think a sleeper (in that you dont hear a lot about him) is prob OU reciever Rashaun Woods, at 6-2 190 he has great size and i believe ran the fastest 40 time at the combine (4.38) he is slated to eb a late first rounder by most although I dont think ive seena mock yet that has him in the first I think hed be a nice addition in the 2nd.

Any other year and Woods is probably a first rounder. Then again, with his time in the 40, the draft "experts" are saying he may have pushed himself into the first round anyway.

Woods is probably the most polished receiver in the draft. Everything I have heard about him has stated that he is ready to step right in.

The knock on Woods (no pun intended) had been his lack of great speed. I guess that's not an issue anymore.

another "sleeper" is lee evans out of wisconsin and devery henderson from LSU. both should be there in round 2

I would be stoked if we got Evans in round 2. But the fact he ran a 4.4 forty prbobly pushed him into the first round.

I would be thrilled with either evans or woods in the second round. It'd be like having an extra first rounder.

I am very leery of Michael Clayton for LSU. I don't think he's really that good personally, and hes not very fast.

:hi5: :punk:;) Couldn't have said it better myself!
Rivers
Evans/Woods
Madieu Williams/Sean Jones

We address TE, OL, CB, and maybe DE in the FA.

We really should address QB or WR in the first round if we don't get Henson, and the other in the 2nd Round. Rivers and the best receiver left, or the top receiver available and a guy like Losman or something.

with so much reciever depth, it seems like its faith that we get one in rounds 2 or 3. of course, you never know with TD and he might not even draft one of these gems

i like woods he reminds me of moulds just a little slower..He really knows how to fight and go get the football.

Lee evans is a blazer .. great deep speed....Henderson is raw...still learning to play wr...but wow what speed 4.39....Don't forget about jenkins from ohio st a 2nd rounder and wiliford who needs work on his hands....

I would acquire henson for a 2005 2nd round pick....

Trade down to 18 or lower and draft dunta robinson cb south carolina ran 4.34 40 at combine(hall and gamble will be gone) ... or cb will poole from usc.. with the extra 2nd round pick i would draft henderson from lsu then take chris snee og boston college...or vice versa ... in round 3...marquis hill de from lsu or
fs m. williams maryland or fs will allen ohio st....allen makes a lot of big plays ......

actually, i just read on espn this morning that there are MAJOR varying reports on what he ran.. from a 4.3something to a 4.6 something.. they changed the front page of espn, so the link is not there anymore, and i cant find it.. but i was watching the combine show when the showed him run and stated that he ran a 4.6... i was confused as hell when then all the sudden i read he ran a 4.34 or whatever on some sites..

the official time gets released tomorrow i think.

Just curious, but who were the WRs in the class of 96'. I know Moulds and Owens, but who else?

Harrison and a few others but I know Harrison for sure.

The 1996 draft included WR's:

Keyshawn Johnson
Terry Glenn
Eddie Kennison*
Marvin Harrison
Eric Moulds

*Kennison was taken ahead of Harrison!

I still think the 2004 class has the potential to be better than the 96' class. Although Harrison, Moulds and Owens is a pretty nice trio.

yeah, I'm confused too. I read several articles that said Rashaun Woods blew everyone away with his speed at the combine; scouts pegged him for a 4.6 guy but he impressed with a 4.3something.

But then that West Coast Scouting Service cited in another thread listed his 40 time as 4.6.

If he's really a 4.3, then he's a legit mid-first rounder. all accounts say he's got great hands, good head.

all i know is i was watching the combine show and the showed him run and the guy sitting there said he ran an expected 4.6 right after that... they then referenced his 4.6 time a few more times over the show..

little is being reported about the fact that clayton ran a high 4.6 as well.. he could turn out to be this years boldin, and will drop for sure.

I assume they run more than one dash, don't they?

they run multiple tries and every coach and scout gets them at a different time usually differing from plus or minus .1 second
