Umm, if the Eagles lost there would still be an African American QB in the Superbowl.

Its funny you keep using the "fartknocker" bit. I totally see you as beavis.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
        It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Yes, the 2 starting QBs for the NFC Champtionship game are black... so regardless who one, a black QB was going to the show.

Something that came to mind while reading it.

Are there any starting Black QB's in the AFC? NFC has quite a few, but I cannot think of an AFC QB who is black.

I agree that the whole black QB thing is a non issue, for two reasons. One, most of the best players in the NFL are black- black players thrive in the sport, and the sport and fans benefit immensely from their contribution. Does it matter if there are one or two positions where white players are more successful? If the media was consistent, there'd be 9 million stories about the NFL lacking black kickers.

Second, there have been successful black QB's in the league for a while now. Granted, I think Williams is the only one who ever won a SB, but Moon, Cunningham, Vick, McNabb, Culpepper- I'm sure I'm forgetting some accomplished black QB's. No one would deny that these players have had a huge impact on the game- the media is just using the SB as a stupid "look how far they've come" milestone.

                McNair (when healthy, of course)

                Past AFC black QBs:
                Blake
                Stewart
                Moon

That's as many as I can remember...

there's only one black starter, but I think there's alot of black backups in the AFC. Heck the Patroits backup is black, but we don't hear about that.

That's cuz Brady would never get injured- that would be bad luck, and bad things don't happen to the Patriots. And if Brady did get injured, the back-up would probably end up being the next John Elway only with Michael Vick athleticism.
