Pittsford, NY - Rookie defensive tackle John McCargo was taken to the hopsital Saturday night, long after the Bills wrapped up their second practice of the day at St. John Fisher.
The team tells 13-WHAM Sports that McCargo, who just signed with the Bills Friday, was taken in an ambulance to the hospital for precautionary measures around 6:30 Saturday night.
13-WHAM Sports has learned doctors are running some tests, but the Bills had no further comment on what caused McCargo to be taken to the hospital. We are told that McCargo is expected to be released in time to be back with the team for a closed practice session on Sunday afternoon.

"McCargo treated
Rookie defensive tackle John McCargo was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital on Saturday night as a precaution, WHAM-TV (Channel 13) reported.
The station said McCargo was transported from the Bills' training camp at St. John Fisher College about 6:30 Saturday evening. He was in the emergency department under observation late Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 295-pound McCargo signed a five-year contract on Friday...."
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

It's a good thing for the media to get all hyped up over.Originally Posted by Amare

Facts speak louder than opinions
Probably dehydration/heat stroke. i hope he'll be ok.
Pads tomorrow for the first time, and the next three days are supposed to be the most hot and humid of the summer so far according to weather forcasts.
The trainers better keep their eye's on everybody, but especially the big guys.
I agree. With that said you'd think McCargo would be used to the heat considering where he played. I think he finally realized that he had enough money to be on Cribs!!!Originally Posted by YardRat
If he's going to be released quickly, it's likely little more than dehydration/heat exhaustion. A heart problem would keep him awhile.
The NFL coaching staffs have to be very careful with this type of situation ever since the Minnesota offensive lineman died from heat related complications a few years ago.

Agreed, somewhat worrisome though that a rookie of all the players has seemed to have been the most affected. I would of hoped he would of been in some of the best shape. You know having had all the pre-draft workouts, and minicamps...Originally Posted by YardRat
Look on the brightside he could have been carted off the field after banging his helmet on the turf in frustration. I hope we see none of those this year for the bills.
