Man, Roy has been tearing it up since I ripped him in my last blog.

I am literally a walking jinx.

Are goaltenders optional in that game?

That's what bothers me about him. That goal was spectacular- he created a chance for Vanek then cleaned up the mess when Vanek got stuffed. It's something you'd expect to see from Ovechkin or Crosby.

The problem is that guys like Ovechkin and Crosby do it almost every night. Roy does it about 5 times a season. He has tons of talent but for some reason he can't apply it consistently.

Which is exactly why I've changed my tune on trading him recently. He is way too inconsistent for my liking.

Apparently, but you know it's giving Gary Bettman an orgasm. If the game was on Versus, he'd probably find Buddha and achieve nirvana.

This team has sucked all season. They got by due to Miller.

For some reason, the Sabres' FO thinks that Vanek, Roy, Pominville and Connolly provide sufficient offense. They don't.

someone, I believe it was Typ0, sayd that the Sabres could do some damage if Miller got hot at the right time. I think the opposite happened- Miller got hot early and the team peaked then, and made a lot of people think this team is better than it is.

I know I shouldn't, but I'll be watching intently for any moves before the freeze tomorrow.

They are desperately in need of a move or two.

It's very obvious that this team is average at best when Miller isn't playing out of his mind. Darcy seriously has to be one of the dumbest people in hockey to think his team is good enough and doesn't need a change. They need to flush out the trash, i.e - Roy, Vanek, Hecht McCarthur, Stafford and develop another core for their team. These guys are losers and are soft. I've seen the way this movie ends and it isn't good. For the FO to just sit back and do nothing is a slap in the face of all Sabres fans. This team will NEVER be a contender with the these players on it...they just aren't good enough.

I'm amazed that Lindy hasn't done that yet. He used to make the captains earn their ****ing C's and A's. Now he's left it so the same crappy guys keep the letters. While...it's time to shake things up. If the front office won't make any moves until after the Olympic break, the time is now to make your own move. Rivet sucks...take the C away and give it to Paul Gaustad! Take one of the A's away and give it to Tyler Myers.

    Re: Sabres @ Canes

my sense is that the sabres FO doesn't really believe they have a winner on their hands. they know they are a legit 6-4 seed that got hot early. They know trading picks for rentals won't turn up a cup. So instead, they'll do nothing. their only other option is to blow it up and try to get more picks and get better through the draft.

You have to ask yourself, is this team a player or two away from being great, or has miller made them an overachieving bunch? If its the latter, they'll deal with getting rid of salary becaue they are close to the cap for an average team.

It doesn't matter one bit who wears the C and who wears an A.

They were a couple players away during the offseason when several all stars were moving around. Now there really is nobody out there that will improve them drastically.

The only good thing about the slump is that it forces Darcy to realize that the team might not even be good enough to make the playoffs. Can you imagine a collapse of that magnitude?
