Bills Blog Blitz Exclusive: Aaron Maybin Interview

    Here it is guys...enjoy!

I have an agreement with another player right now, but it is in the works and I will release that info in due time.

Linebacker Aaron Maybin was the Bills' first-round pick in 2009. Maybin, a first-team All-American as a senior at Penn State, was drafted 11th overall and appeared in all 16 games last season. He is projected to start at outside linebacker this season.

Nice job. He certainly seems to have the right attitude, let's hope it shows in on-field performance this year.

Nice job, T-Long. Admittedly, I am not a Maybin fan (don't like hold-outs) but I did like his parting shot ...

A new season. A new mission. A new swagger ... Mayhem!
Here's hoping we see good things out of him and the team in 2010.

Re: Bills Blog Blitz Exclusive: Aaron Maybin Interview

Maybin: “I love Coach Gailey and the attitude he has brought to this team. He's a blue-collar coach that has proven over his career that he knows how to win. He's a no-nonsense kind of guy, but he definitely has brought a new energy to the team that has us ready to play with an attitude we didn’t have before. It’s very exciting.”

Re: Bills Blog Blitz Exclusive: Aaron Maybin Interview

Being a former first-round pick yourself, what advice would you give new Bills RB C.J. Spiller as he enters the NFL?

Maybin: “Just to work as hard as possible and never to allow himself to get discouraged. The kid is talented; he knows that. He's going to be a very productive player for us. All he has to do is stay humble and consistently improve.”
    Right answer: DON'T HOLD OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

    Awesome, Thanks T!

Great read. Although I have had a hard time liking him since his hold-out and not being able to do much with the little time he saw the field, I'm very excited to see if he breaks through for us this year.

    Finally! :sarcasm:

I'm a big PSU fan, so I like the kid and think he's going to be terrific coming off the edge. No matter what you think of him, he works hard.

Thanks for that. In the other premature thread, someone asked about how you found the guy to be personally. I don't know whether you answered that there or not, but the question still remains, what were your impressions of him as a person?
One thing I will say, is that his responses to your questions, seemed largely mature.

I did answer, and I was up front stating that I am a big Penn State fan, but that aside, the guy has a lot of confidence in his abilities and I believe he is going to be a star in this league. The move to OLB is going to do wonders for him. He has the type of attitude I would hope a lot of Bills players would have. You guys are going to see something special with him this year.

So his advice to Spiller is remain humble? I don't think we'll see Spiller doing a dance after a 3 yd run Aaron.

Re: Bills Blog Blitz Exclusive: Aaron Maybin Interview

I will be happy if they just play this guy. I woulda tossed his butt in there last year. Hold out or not. A first round pick is a pick that can/needs to make immediate impact in my book. QB is the only place I would say there is an exception.

Anyway, thats the past and hopefully he gets out there and shows what he can do this year. For this to work he really needs to be a big contributer in the long run.
