When is it Maybin's turn?
When is it Maybin's turn?
he's getting his audition...he played more yesterday and actually had three tackles. cutting him right now would be a complete mistake and unfair.
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.
It's Maybin's 2nd year, Trent's 4th. I think we should continue to develop Maybin in the weight room, and see how he does.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
I'm not convinced he's ever going to be anything but a towel boy but the guy has played less than 50 NFL plays. He didn't take himself out of the lineup. Let him play and let's see if he has anything.Originally Posted by Jan Reimers

Agreed.Originally Posted by THATHURMANATOR

If we cut all the absolute bums, we won't be able to field a team next Sunday.
I HATE Maybin more then anyone, but i think Cornell Green and Donte Whitner are ahead of the pecking order.
Impossible is Nothing.
I'd dump McCargo first.

Incorrect. how much of the $17million was guaranteed? How much of that is signing bonus that is already paid (they cannot "save" that)? What is his base salary for this year? He made $1.45 million last year. He is not making $6million this year. Long term savings might be larger but his salary this year is insignificant.Originally Posted by TacklingDummy
Let's make a deal. Let him finish puberty, then we'll reassess.Originally Posted by TacklingDummy
The guaranteed money would be a complete loss, which it may be already but I'd rather wait and see.
Maybin didn't draft himself, and is still developing.
Surely you can understand that, being the logical man of reason you are, right? This is odd behavior from you, usually your one line posts announcing how bad we suck, and who we should get rid of, contain no useful information, at all. Providing the contract numbers wad useful...see ther is a first time for everything!!
We cut Edwards, as much for his good as ours, and the headhunters are out!!
not cutting maybin after 2 years idiotic
give him another offseason to learn his roll get bigger and maybe learn a pass rush move, to young to give up on him now.
MUCK
FIAMI
The fact that Maybin is still only 22 years old seems to always get lost here. The guy is still going to fill out more and get stronger and from what I am seeing he is attempting new pass rush moves every game. He really just needs time and experience to find out what he is good at and to perfect his speed rush.
Talley really hit it on the head when he said that Maybin should not be in a 4 point stance. He should be standing up.
I still think Maybin will come around but not till the second half of the season or even the final third. Or maybe not even till next year. One thing is for sure, last year he was well short of the listed 250 pounds. This year he is at least 245 if not more. He is getting there. Just needs time.
Brian Orakpo and Clay Matthews are both 24.

Maybin got swallowed up, *****slapped, and schooled by Todd Lyght yesterday. I hope he turned that one into a learning experince and grows from it.
Maybin came out after his sophmore season and really didnt play much last year. this year is a 3-4 lets give him some time before labeling a "bust" Trent has had ample opportunity
Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills .... Bills Mafia for life
$15 million is already lost, no matter how you look at it.Originally Posted by TacklingDummy

The grand total (including this year) is about $12.5 million. On the payroll, that's about $2.5 million a year. That's peanuts in this league, and won't affect our flexibility in any way. Cutting Maybin this early is stupid (and I hate Maybin).
Yea yea, "Ralph is cheap," but Maybin's guaranteed money has already done the most damage.

Pretty sure stats don't matter but james harrison first couple years didn't really do much. pretty sure steelers were glad they kept him sure developed into a good olb.
3rd year didn't even start and had 0 sacks.
just trying to point out why cutting someone year 2 is INSANE
i dont like maybin because he acts like he has done so much but i do believe he can develop
