Mario under fire for gun pics

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...213750928.html

Tim Graham is launching an assault on Mario as well on Twitter.

"I have a feeling the NFL would rather the highest-paid defensive player in league history not advertise that he's armed to the teeth."

"I'm commenting simply on the picture. Legal or not, it's a bad look and not what the NFL wants. Nor should the Bills."

"It's not the legality of the gun. It's a superstar saying "Look how cool this is" at a time the NFL is concerned about a gun problem."

If he isn't breaking any laws I don't see the issue.

On the flip-side, teachers for example, are frowned upon from posting pictures of them drinking or even racy pictures.

The NFL may not like pictures of Mario firing guns and the image it may portray.

Re: Mario under fire for gun pics

    Tim Graham needs to STFU.

First, if the NFL was that concerned with gun pics, then they'd make it part of the player conduct policy. I'm sure they don't like it, but there's really nothing they can do about it. Taking any action against Mario for posting pics would create far more of an image problem for the NFL than the actual pics are.

Second, everyone knows Mario Williams has a $90 million contract, plus all the money he made in Houston and from endorsements. If everyone knew I was extremely wealthy, I'd arm myself to the teeth and make sure everyone knew that too.

Jeez, just go ahead and bash the guy we spent $100 million bucks on. First the engagement ring, then the "kill 'em or hurt 'em" comment, and now the guns. Leave the fooking guy alone.

He brings it all on himself, if he were a smarter man he would keep his mouth shut, keep the controversial pictures under wraps and focus on football.

I'd think he'd get more trouble from the NFL brass for the A. Hernandez GTA pic he put up on his instagram.

I would make a picture of Graham as a target just to make that crybaby cry even more.

I don't see how they can reprimand him. He's not breaking any laws or NFL policies.

I think it's a stupid picture given the history of the NFL and gun problems ESPECIALLY with what has just transpired, but if they don't want them putting up pictures like that, then make a policy about it.

    Tim Graham needs a hobby.

The pictures show Mario Williams doing some shooting practice. A few of the pics show him wearing protective gear on his eyes and ears.

This isn't some Aaron Herndandez hoodrat type ****.

This actually looks like responsible gun ownership on Mario Williams' part.

Tim is trying to make a name for himself at the expense of Mario. I despise that kind of "journalism".

Maybe we need our highest paid guy to behave like an adult in a bad time for the league, he's a pretty high-profile guy to be acting like a child.

Well, at least he is acting like a MALE child. Not like some whinny little girl.

And if the NFL wants to avoid a black eye in the future, they should encourage teams to not draft thugs.

Agreed. There's a big difference between the two, Williams is an avid hunter and I assume a gun collector that is licensed and using the weapons for sport, while Hernandez is a thug with an unlicensed weapon that he uses for killing.

From what we know , Mario is a law abiding citizen. Why is Graham attacking law abiding citizens for firing guns?

Re: Mario under fire for gun pics

Seems while the actual NFL news is dead until training camp, it's time for certain media members to sermonize from the pulpit about social issues, team nicknames and gun control. I take it at face value and really don't react to everything I read from them. They need a paycheck and that's the big picture.
