    Re: sabres prospect talk

Here is one example of why it was absolutely crucial for the Sabres to finish 30th... McDavid had 49 points and Dylan Strome had 22 points in the OHL playoffs... Strome is going to be a good player in the NHL but it would have been a massive kick in the nuts to end up with Strome and not McEichel

Loom at the sabres goalie prospects. Ullmark is the only one who I think has NHL potential

No idea how much people care at this point, but today during his offseason workouts, grigo posted a video of him squatting 400 pounds, free weight.

    Re: sabres prospect talk

If he's not traded he should take his two way contract and accept earn it next year... and he has the talent to do so.

i do believe he is right there. The next step is entirely his to make.

he will either become a no one and shuffle off back to Russia... or he's going to ante up and make a name for himself in the NHL

The fact that he's the ONLY Sabres prospect on that list of 50 make the Sabres look like failures.

    Re: sabres prospect talk

The question is what do the Senators want for Robin Lehner? As to me he's the one goalie that makes sense as he's a big Swede that GMTM "mockingly " said he likes but does have ties to GMTM in Ottawa, is young enough to develop with the team in front of him and think end up costing the least. I mean if we could get him for Pick 51 and one of forward prospects. I want to say Bailey as think he's more hype than hope yet it probably isn't enough.

Not really. Girgs and risto are considered graduated and we haven't drafted eichel yet.

    Re: sabres prospect talk

This thread fell to page 3!

Anyway here's a pretty good recap of: 2015-16 Buffalo Sabres Top 10 Prospects

It all sounds great. Particularly like this:

    8. Brendan Guhle: Defense – 6’2” 185 lbsDrafted: 51st overall in the second round of the 2015 draft by the Sabres.

In a draft steeped in top defensive prospects, Guhle flew under the radar somewhat and Buffalo picked him slightly above where he was widely ranked. He is an all-around type player who should fill out his tall frame. He has great skating technique and some offensive upside. Could be a steal.

So outside of two tank job prospects we have two other players in the bottom quarter of the top 100?

heres hoping the chief scout in charge knows how to build a whole organization... scouting department... development department... the whole ball of wax.

Well, they moved some significant prospects and others graduated. Risto and Girgs are no longer prospects.

In other words, they'd better win now. Or moving those prospects will have been a failure.

No... not at all. They got young players back, but not prospects. Oreilly is 24. Kane is 24. Bogosian is 25. All they did was accelerate the process and gave up prospects and picks to do so. The window isn't even open yet.
