A second reason I don't like this thread.

    "Watkins Watch!!!"

It sounds like something the E! Channel would do.

All the Whaley and Sammy Watkins hate was from people who can't see talent. It was the best move a gm has made in I don't know how long. We are 2-0 so maybe the Browns won't end up with the number 1 pick like the lemmings suggested in the offseason.

Ya, but I can't say it was really his fault. Watkins was basically rated up there with cj, aj, and aj green coming out of school. I personally see sterling Sharpe when I look at him. The more I watch, the more I think our fo is aping San Fran and Seattle in how they are building the team. Only diff is they want the playmakers to be the skill guys (and lots of them) instead of the qb.

Yeah, but I think part of our old absent pal Fletch's point was to get a bigger WR. Being a bigger WR did not save Mike Evans from being creamed here, unable to get up from the field-of-play so his team could kick the winning fieldgoal, which they were in the position of doing.

This is all part of the "Watkins Watch" that he himself created, mind you. Something Fletch purposely neglects this week. You bet your bottom dollar that he'll revisit this thread later, when events suit his premise. This is transparent.

This is one of the many reasons why he is a major douchebag.

Only ONE single wide receiver had more yardage than Sammy Watkins this week. ONE, and that includes everybody including his pals on other teams.

                  Re: Watkins Watch

Per request of malvado78 in another thread, here's the season update.

Kelvin Benjamin has 8 catches for 138 yards, 17.0 avg. and a TD.
Watkins has 11 catches for 148 yards, 13.0 avg. and a TD
Evans has 9 catches for 86 yards, 9.6 avg.

Watkins cost two 1st-round picks and a 4th, including the 4th overall.

                  Evans was a 7th overall

                  Benjamin was a 28th overall.

                    Re: Watkins Watch

so benjamin was taken 28th overall, and we should have reached for him at 9? because if we didn't we wouldn't have gotten him.

if the bills reached for a WR and he wasn't guaranteed to eb good, the devastating here would have been unmatched.

also, i wasn't for the watkins trade as i thought it was too much. but i do see the total switch in WR the bills went with and they've upgraded talent to help a QB with accuracy issues. if the bills are 8 wins or better, it will have been worth it. i am coming around to the decision. time will tell though

                      Just posting the data.

Everyone can come to their own conclusions.

I would strongly suggest that you wait at least 8 more weeks prior to coming to anything that resembles a firm conclusion.

No, Watkins cost ONE first round pick.

Saying he cost two is redundant.

If you want to say he "cost two 1st-round picks", then you can't also say "including the 4th overall". Your statement implies that he cost the 4th overall plus another first rounder, which is false.

But I'm sure you probably don't care about semantics when you are trying to prove your point.
