I live in the Rochester, NY market and fully expect the game to be blacked out because there is an empty seat at Ford Field. That's what I think of those douchebags.

They should play the game in Syracuse if the Detroit stadium is going to be half full.

The manager of the Carrier Dome even said they could be ready for a Monday Night game.

I'm sure there's some BS reason they gave it to Detroit instead.

Yeah, I don't get that either. I can't imagine that the difference in capacity is going to fill the place.

"I was an integral part in the drafting process of EJ Manuel," Whaley said Thursday on NFL Network's Total Access. "I was the person that handled the draft process and setting up the board."

"We are committed. I want you to believe me when I say that," Whaley said of building around the second-year quarterback, per The Buffalo News. "I always tell you guys that I'll never say never because I don't want to paint myself in a corner, but when I do say something, I do it and I mean it and I try to fulfill it."

"We believe the addition of Sammy is going to be instant impact, not only to our quarterback, but to what our offensive coordinator can come up with game-plan wise and how defenses attack us," Whaley said.

Whaley on EJ Manuel: "We think we got a gem in this guy." (2:30)

"And as Mark says, if in three years maybe he's not [our quarterback of the future], then I'll be sitting there saying 'hey guys', .... anybody got a job for me?" - Doug Whaley

the slogan is "get every game to your home". the nfl better honor that contract. it's not like it's a redeployment of people and an added expense. They already have the crews there, if they screw this up, i swear to god, it just shows you how money oriented the league is. they want to help their TV partners at the expense of the paying fan.

                Fords field holds 65,000.

                The Carrier Dome holds 49.262.

                That's if they sold out.

I doubt there will be 49,262 in Detroit to watch the game.

I'm quite confident they want to keep the games in an NFL stadium for a few different reasons. One, they keep the money in the family. Two, the stadium implementation is up on what it means to represent the NFL. Three, there is a lot of equipment to televise the games that the NFL does not own but contracts with--the parameters of those contracts have to be fulfilled.

Exactly. At least at SU there would have been a chance of selling out. I see 25K empty seats in Detroit easily.

Well, you saw the Bills moving to Toronto as well.

No more tickets available already says that stadium will be packed for this game.

Not sure about that. People getting free tickets does not guarantee that they'll show up.

                          We'll see.

Every seat may not be filled, but I would bet less than 25000 seats are empty.

Even if the seats are free, why go to through the hassle of getting them if you aren't going to use them?
