    DB's Draft Watch - Week 1

Oh you thought it was still another week until College Football started? No my friends, the season is upon us as of Saturday. On Saturday at 3:30pm the North Dakota State Bisons take on the Montana Grizzlies in what is actually a really big match up for the purposes of the Big Sky Conference, the FCS, and the NFL draft.

    Who to Watch:
    North Dakota State -
    QB Cameron Wentz - 6'5, 231 lbs.
    OT Joe Haeg - 6'5, 300 lbs.
    RB King Frazier - 5'11, 216 lbs.*
    WR Zach Vraa - 6'2, 203 lbs.*

    Montana -
    ILB Jeremiah Kose - 6'1, 230 lbs.
    WR Jamaal Jones - 6'0, 191 lbs.
OLB Kendrick Van Ackeren - 6'0, 191 lbs.
    DE Tyrone Holmes - 6'4, 245 lbs.
    CB Nate Harris - 5'10, 180 lbs.
    CB Joshua Dennard - 5'9, 193 lbs.

    The Matchup:
    Cameron Wentz v. Montana Defense
Senior CB's Nate Harris and Joshua Dennard didn't put up big INT numbers last year but they did combine for 18 Passes Defended and 20 Pass Breakups. They are physical CB's who will tackle and attack the football. If they can provide blanket coverage and give emerging pass rusher Tyler Holmes (7.5 sacks, 14 TFL last year) time to put pressure on Wentz then it could be a rough outing for the Bisons. That being said this isn't Cameron Wentz' first rodeo and he's a top NFL Draft prospect for a reason. Last year Wentz was 228 for 358 (63.6%) for 3,111 yards, 25 TD's, and 10 INT's. He also added 642 rushing yards and 6 more TD's. Wentz is a big QB with surprising athletic ability. He should challenge the Montana DB's to make plays and he'll be looking for Junior WR Zach Vraa to take another step forward in his development.

    Honorable Mention:
OT Joe Haeg v. DE Tyler Holmes
Any time that these two guys go one on one make sure you're watching, Haeg is a technician with strong hands and good leverage v. Holmes who is an athlete with a non-stop motor. This one could be a lot of fun to watch.

The game is at 3:30pm on Saturday and can be seen on ESPN. Enjoy!
    COMING SOON...
