Odell Beckham Jr. to the Dolphins? Former Pro Bowl WR responds to Tyreek Hill's confirmation of signing - CBSSports.com

There has not been any official word from the Dolphins if a deal was happening, nor what the details of a contract will be. OBJ had a visit with the Dolphins in March, and, according to head coach Mike McDaniel, the team made an offer to the three-time Pro Bowler.

"Things went great with him," McDaniel said (via USA Today). "We did make him an offer and business takes time, especially with players like Odell, who's had a phenomenal career and still has really good football in front of him and has options. I think those conversations will be ongoing. We'll see where they go."

Interested teams have a fresh set of questions to pose to T’Vondre Sweat

Sunday’s news that former Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat was arrested for DWI raises plenty of questions. It will be incumbent on any team that is interested in Sweat to seek answers to those questions — and to hope those answers can be trusted.

For starters, how and why was Sweat allegedly driving drunk at 2:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday? Any team thinking about drafting Sweat needs to know the full explanation for that.

Also, they need to know how much alcohol he consumed. We’ve all seen the BAC chart, which shows the intersection between body weight and number of drinks. The more someone weighs, the more booze it takes to get them to the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Sweat weighs 366 pounds. To get to 0.08 percent BAC, that’s a lot of alcohol. How much will he admit to drinking? And if he tries to say he just had a couple of beers, it’s safe to assume he’s not telling the truth.

    Rome Odunze visits Cardinals Monday

According to multiple reports, Odunze is meeting with the Cardinals. He has also spent time with the Jets, Bears, and Giants recently.

The Cardinals have the fourth overall pick and many projections have them taking a wideout after three quarterbacks come off the board to start the draft. They have also met with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers, who join Odunze as the top prospects at the position this season.

Projections that don’t have the Cardinals taking a wideout often have them trading down with a team that’s in the market for a quarterback. Depending on how far down they move, they could do that and still wind up with one of those receivers when all is said and done.

    Falcons sign Kevin King

The Falcons announced a veteran addition to their secondary on Monday.
Cornerback Kevin King has signed with the team. The Falcons did not announce the terms of the deal.
King was a 2017 second-round pick of the Packers and he played five seasons with the team before sitting out the 2022 season. King hoped to get healthy after missing chunks of time with various injuries, but he tore his Achilles last spring while training for a return to action.
King had 197 tackles, seven interceptions, 30 passes defensed, one sack, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 51 games for Green Bay.

    49ers sign Eric Saubert

The 49ers announced the signing of two free agents on the offensive side of the ball on Monday.

Running back Patrick Taylor’s addition was reported last week while tight end Eric Saubert’s signing had flown under the radar. Both players agreed to one-year deals with the reigning NFC champs.

Saubert played one game with the Cowboys and nine games for the Texans last season. He had three catches for 12 yards while with Houston.

For his career, Saubert has played in 84 games and has also seen time with the Falcons, Bears, Jaguars, and Broncos.

Chargers working to build “epic” offense for the 2024 season

The Chargers’ offseason program is underway and so is the construction of their new offense under offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

Run game coordinator Andy Bischoff outlined the goal of that construction process when he spoke to reporters on Monday. Roman built a successful offense around Lamar Jackson in Baltimore and will be working with a very different quarterback in Justin Herbert with the Chargers.

Bischoff called Herbert a player “with rare intelligence” and said the team aims to put him in a “different and unique” offense in order to make the most of his ability.

“This morning in our team meeting with the offense, [Roman] used the word ‘epic’ in front of the guys and defined it,” Bischoff said, via the team’s website. “Why not create something different than has ever been done. As much success as we’ve all had in different places doing different things, none of that really matters. All that really matters is right now and creating that here.”

    Logan Ryan announces his retirement

Ryan announced his retirement on social media on Tuesday morning. Ryan called his 11 years in the NFL a “beautiful journey of highs and lows.”

Two of the highs came during his first four years in the league. Ryan was a 2013 third-round pick of the Patriots and he helped them to a pair of Super Bowl titles during his run in New England.

Ryan left the Patriots as a free agent in 2017 and played three seasons for the Titans. During that time, he returned Tom Brady’s final pass as a Patriot for a touchdown in a Tennessee playoff win over his former team. Ryan moved on to two years with the Giants and reunited with Brady in Tampa in 2022 before closing out his career with a trip to the Super Bowl as a member of the 49ers last season.

TE Ja’Tavion Sanders scheduled to meet with Panthers, Browns

Brock Bowers is widely expected to be the first tight end off the board in this year’s draft and one of the candidates for No. 2 is meeting with a couple of teams this week.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Ja’Tavion Sanders is slated for visits with the Panthers and Browns.

Sanders was a starter at Texas the last two seasons and he posted 99 catches for 1,295 yards and seven touchdowns as a Longhorn. That production in the passing game has led most to project him as a second-day pick later this month.

Kansas City mayor says Chiefs aren’t going anywhere

Dallas mayor Eric Johnson has jumped all over Kansas City’s conundrum, using it for his political gain by recruiting the Chiefs.

Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas responded on social media recently, declaring the Chiefs aren’t going anywhere.

“I hear rumors, including even from the Mayor of Dallas,” Lucas wrote. “Kansas City, don’t believe the noise. We are committed to retention of our teams with vastly lower expenses--think needed infrastructure build out--than even an intra-metro move. Both teams will be in KCMO in 2040 and long after.”
