    Jets hold players-only meeting Tuesday

The Jets called a players-only meeting Tuesday, the team’s off day, to talk about it.

The guys talked, and we had the floor,” wide receiver Garrett Wilson said during his weekly appearance on ESPN New York radio, via Rich Cimini of ESPN. “It was just us. We got to make sure we’re all on the same page about where we’re at and how the hell we get out of this funk, man. That was really the message. When it comes from one of your teammates, it always hits different. It always resonates a little bit more.”

Jets coach Robert Saleh acknowledged Monday that changes were needed, but those changes won’t include replacing quarterback Zach Wilson or offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Wilson’s 74.6 passer rating ranks 30th in the NFL as he has thrown five touchdowns and six interceptions.

Justin Fields “deflinitely looks good,” ready to go this week

One of Fields’ teammates has seen enough to say that he thinks it is time for the quarterback to get the green light. Safety Jaquan Brisker shared that belief on 670 The Score.
“Yeah, yeah, Justin, he looks good,” Brisker said. “He definitely looks good. So we’re going to see where it goes, but I feel like Justin looks ready to go to me.”
Wednesday will bring more word on how much Fields is able to do at practice and what the chances are that he makes it back on the field this weekend.

Mac Jones doesn’t know whether he will start in Week 12

Jones said on WEEI on Tuesday night that he hasn’t been told if he will start in Week 12 against the Giants when the Patriots return from their off week.

“No. We haven’t talked about that,” Jones said on the Jones and Mego Show. “Really just, today we watched the game film and kind of talked about the plans for the bye week. We have practice tomorrow. Just see how it goes there and the bye week is a great time to work on things that you can do better so, that’s what I’m going to do. ”

Jones doesn’t know when he will get an answer on his status after a red zone interception got him benched in favor of Bailey Zappe for the final drive Sunday. Zappe then ended all comeback hopes with an interception.

Joe Flacco working out for Browns Friday

After the Browns announced that Deshaun Watson will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury earlier this week, General Manager Andrew Berry said that the team would sign a third quarterback to go with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and P.J. Walker.

Veteran Joe Flacco is one of the quarterbacks in the running for that spot. Flacco was spotted on a flight to Cleveland on Thursday night and PFT has confirmed with a league source that he will be working out for the Browns on Friday.

Steelers plan for Pat Freiermuth to return from injury, play vs. Browns

The Steelers plan to have tight end Pat Freiermuth on the field tomorrow against the Browns.
Freiermuth is set to be activated from injured reserve for the game in Cleveland, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Freiermuth started the first four games of this season but has been out since then with a hamstring injury. He has just eight catches for 53 yards this season.

The Vikings went 1-4 in the five games Jefferson played and their season appeared to be in peril, but they’ve surprisingly gone 5-0 without Jefferson. Even with Kirk Cousins out for the season, backup quarterback Josh Dobbs has come in and played very well to keep Minnesota in playoff contention.

Justin Jefferson not activated, will not play Sunday night

One of the NFL’s most exciting rookies is back.
Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, who had 11 carries for 151 yards in a Week 5 win over the Giants before unexpectedly landing on injured reserve with a knee injury, has returned to the active roster.

The Ravens aren’t closing the door on the possibility of tight end Mark Andrews returning to the lineup this season.

Andrews left last Thursday’s win over the Bengals after a tackle by linebacker Logan Wilson and a report on Friday said that he suffered a cracked fibula along with damage to ankle ligaments. On Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that further tests showed that the injury was less severe than the team first thought and that Andrews is still being evaluated to see if there’s a chance that he could return to action this season.

“Might be an outside chance” Mark Andrews can return this season

Jets sign Trevor Siemian to active roster

Siemian has been on the practice squad since signing with the team in the wake of Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury, but the team formally signed him to their active roster on Tuesday. They also announced that they have signed cornerback Craig James to the practice squad.

49ers sign Ben Bartch off Jaguars’ practice squad

The 49ers are signing offensive guard Ben Bartch off the Jaguars’ practice squad, Mia O’Brien of 1010XL reports.

Bartch will take the roster spot created with safety Talanoa Hufanga’s move to injured reserve with a season-ending ACL tear.

Both of the 49ers’ starting guards — Aaron Banks (toe) and Spencer Burford (knee) — were estimated as non-practice participants Monday.

Bartch started the first three games of the season for the Jaguars before being benched. His starts came at left guard, and he has played three snaps at right guard in eight game appearances this season.
