Devin Singletary agrees to join Giants

Giants head coach Brian Daboll is bringing in a familiar face for his team’s backfield.
New York has agreed to sign running back Devin Singletary, according to multiple reports.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes Singletary’s deal is for three years and $16.5 million, with a maximum value of $19.5 million.
While Singletary spent last season with the Texans, he played his first four seasons with the Bills — three of which were under Daboll as the team’s offensive coordinator. Singletary recorded a career-high with 898 yards rushing in 2023, while also catching 30 passes for 193 yards for Houston.

LOL. No he hasn't. That is the stupidest thing I've seen posted here in a long time.

Going from Saquon Barkley to Singletary is like going from the prom queen to the fugly duckling. The Giants could not have taken a bigger step backward at RB if they tried.

He left the Giants for the crazy money he was offered they didn't want to lose him.

Singletary accepted a contract there was no plot or swap out.

    LOL

I never said that Singletary was as good as Barkely (he's not), just that he has had a solid career. But, just for fun, let's compare their overall stats:

    Singletary: 5 years 4,049 yards, 4.6 yards/carry, 175 receptions, 20 TDs

    Barkely: 6 years 5,211 yards, 4.3 yards/carry, 289 receptions, 35 TDs

Yep, Barkely is better. But Singletary is staking out a very nice, solid career in comparison. Plus, he is a hell of a lot cheaper and seemingly more durable.

huh? No one compared him to Barkley. John Doe said Singletary was a "solid" NFL back.

PS, last season, Barkley had a little over 1200 yards from scrimmage in 14 games, Singletary had around 1100 yards from scrimmage in 17 games, but the first 5 or so games, he was 2nd on the depth chart to Pierce.

I'm confident that Singletary will be productive for the Giants ..... I wouldn't mind having him right here with Cook either ..... but that ship has already sailed.

I wasn't a fan but now that he's not on the team, I wish him well, and dollar for dollar, it appears he's a better value than Saquon.

    Barkley has 35 more TDs.
Barkley started out weak in average yards his first and third season. He also lost a season due to injury.

singles is a decent back. That is the final category to where we say Singles sucks.

Barkley is a far superior weapon but not worth the money and decent to better than average backs in this NFL are fine.

in 2 years Cook will be gone. Draft a RB every draft. Starting this draft.

Not only "hate" but Detox is wrong too.

Singletary HAS proven to be a "solid NFL back". Of course ****ting on players via silly hyperbole is Detox's schtick. It's insufferable.

If he stays healthy Barkley would be well worth the contract. He signed for Gabe Davis money and Barkley is a far more impact player than Davis. Dual threat guy that defenses will have to game plan for. With the Eagles O line even without Kelce he should do very well.
