No, we should be upset about a D that consists of Myers/Rivet/Montador/Butler/Sekera/Weber.Originally Posted by RockStar36
That's ****ing horrendous.
This goes back to the same thing as losing Drury and Briere. If those guys can't get it done, fine- let them walk. But bring in someone who is equal or better. Like the Bills, the Sabres consistently fail in part 2 of that equation.
Granted, it's early and there's still time to find someone. Kubina, Volchenkov and Kaberle are still available. But if we couldn't get the job done with Tallinder and Lydman, we sure as hell won't get it done with guys below them on the depth chart.
Keep up the good work, Darcy!Originally Posted by CuseJetsFan83

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
Are you kidding? That sounds great!Originally Posted by OpIv37

Nope. The minute the Sabres let them hit the market they were gone.Originally Posted by Mikey82
And for the price? No thanks.
Again, what did these guys do that makes everyone so upset? They were simply just there. Before last season with Myers, Tallinder was as bad as could be.
To review:
Ottawa is letting Volchenkov walk (probably) and their only signing was getting ass raped for Gonchar.
But I guess because they signed someone, this is viewed as good compared to Buffalo.
I love the logic.

Just told Canucks sign Hamhuis... waiting on confirmation from another source
TSNBobMcKenzie
Hamhuis to Vancouver is done for $4.5M per year.
TSNBobMcKenzie
Hamhuis is 6 years x $4.5M with VAN, but paperwork still being finalized.

For the record, I think what Ottawa has done is dumb.
I did in the worst way. I wanted both Lydman and Tallinder dished off last season before their contracts expired.Originally Posted by TheGhostofJimKelly
I'm not saying replacing them with AHL guys is the answer at all, I'll wait to see what they do, but I'm not shedding a single tear that these guys are gone, especially at the price they got.
