Is it curable or no?
Yes.
Squamous cells are what you find on the outside of membranes. Your outer layers of skin, the linings of organs and glands, etc are squamous epithelium. Squamous cell carcinoma is very treatable. It can often be completely removed but can leave peopple disfigured. My father has an ongoing issue with it and he has a chunk missing from the tip of his nose.
In other news, Op is a giant douchebag.

That's not really news...
Anyway, I found this:
Former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Hall of Famer Jim Kelly has been diagnosed with cancer in his upper jaw bone stemming from squamous cell carcinoma.
The quarterback released a statement on Monday morning calling the last "couple of weeks" very "difficult" but also saying that "the prognosis for my recovery is very good."
“This past couple of weeks has been difficult for me and because of the nature of social media I thought it would be best to share with everyone what has been going on with my health," Kelly said in a statement. "I was recently diagnosed with Squamous-cell carcinoma (cancer) of the upper jaw bone. I have undergone tests which have shown that the cancer is isolated to my upper jaw and has not spread to other parts of my body. Surgery is scheduled for June 7th and doctors have told me that the prognosis for my recovery is very good."

Thoughts and prayers for ya Jimbo. Oh, and its not news that OP is a *******, its probably been known about him since his birth.
Pulled all his front teeth a couple months back to remove the large cyst in his sinus. Obviously more to it.
All the best thoughts.
Kelly is a piece of iron.
He'll be out golfing in about a week.
The two leading causes of oral cancers (especially squamous cell) is Tobacco use and HPV (about a third of all oral cancers).
He'll probably have problems with this for the rest of his life, but it is rarely life threatening as long as you stay on top of it. He'll fe fine.... relatively. Op may have been a bit insensitive, but I would bet this is a case of oral squamous cell carcinoma associated with his history with alcoholism. Smoking and chewing tobacco is another huge risk factor.
Michael Douglas would agree with you.
