    Antoine Winfield???

Is Antoine Winfield's contract up and the end of next season? If so, I think they should get busy and extend it. IMHO, he is the most underrated player on the team. He is a shutdown corner and a vicious, sure tackler. What else do you want from you #1 corner? Besides INTs. IMHO, a consistant pass rush will get QBs to throw the ball before they want to and allow our DBs to grab some INTs.

I am not sure if it runs out or not but I do agree that they should think about extending it now!!

Get the guy signed up already....he's one of the best CBs in the league but almost no one knows it.

You can't hit much harder at 5'8" than that guy...

Very funny. I have others. I bought that one for only $20 anyway.

He is by far my favorite player on the team.

We're gonna have a lot of guys "comin' up" contract wise in the next few seasons. We can't pay them all $5M/yr.

Clements, Pat Williams, Jennings, Drew as we'll have to rework that exorbitant contract although I still don't think he'll be around after '04. Henry will be up.

We may not be able to keep everyone.

My only knock on Winfield is that he's not the best single coverage corner. I think it will bear out that Kevin Thomas will be our best cover guy. It's unlikely that Thomas will have the skills against the run and tackling skills that Clements and Winfield have though.

    2003 salary: $530,000

    Bonus amortization: $1.199 million

    Cap hit: $1.729 million

The CB market changes year to year. More and more, teams are becoming better at managing the cap. That depresses the market and players are signing for less money. That being said, I see TD re-signing him long term by training camp.

4 yr extension ( total 5 yrs 2003-07): $3.5-4 million/season sounds about right with $5-6 million signing bonus

yeah he is a free agent after this next season and I think we should re work his contract and maybe a couple of others that will be comming up to be free agent's in the next couple of years while we have the money , but we need to be smart about it so that we don't put our selves in cap hell like the idiot John Butler had us.
lets go BUFFALO lets go BUFFALO
